Our Guides
At Countryside Montessori School, the owners of the school also serve as the lead guides and directors. With more than thirty-five years of combined Montessori training and experience, we are present on-site each day and deeply committed to offering a thoughtful, high-quality Montessori program.
Our own children were raised through Montessori education, giving us both personal insight and lasting affirmation of the power of an authentic Montessori approach. We have seen firsthand how a carefully prepared environment and a respectful partnership between guides, children, and families supports each child in developing independence, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
At Countryside Montessori School, we strive to cultivate a community where children grow into confident, enthusiastic, and self-directed learners, supported by guides who know them well and care deeply about their development.
Robin Boling
Ms. Robin has been a Montessori educator and administrator for more than thirty-five years. She completed her Montessori certification and internship in the spring of 1993 under the tutelage of Margaret Homfray, who was trained by and was a close friend of Dr. Maria Montessori.
As co-founder of Countryside Montessori School, Ms. Robin is deeply committed to preserving the integrity of an authentic Montessori environment and guiding the vision of the school. As a family-founded school, Countryside was created with the intention of building a thoughtful learning community where children are respected, supported, and encouraged to grow into capable and confident individuals.
Ms. Robin believes that through a child’s meaningful engagement with the prepared environment, they naturally develop essential lifelong qualities such as order, independence, inner discipline, peace, and contentment. She believes children are capable, motivated learners who benefit from the freedom to explore and grow at their own pace. By thoughtfully guiding and observing each child, she strives to honor the Montessori principle of following the child as they develop into the unique person they are meant to become.
Outside of the classroom, Ms. Robin enjoys spending time reading, exploring the outdoors, and being with her family. She values quiet moments in nature and time spent together with loved ones, which help her remain grounded and inspired in both her personal life and her work with children.
Melayna Hurt
Ms. Melayna began her Montessori journey as a child, attending Montessori school from infancy through her Kindergarten year. That early experience sparked a deep appreciation for the Montessori philosophy and the profound respect it holds for the child.
Years later, she returned to Montessori education to begin her professional career as an Infant and Toddler Guide, where she discovered her passion for supporting children during the earliest and most formative stages of development. Ms. Melayna has now been guiding children in Montessori environments for more than ten years.
As a Montessorian, she believes that the guide plays an important role in modeling empathy, compassion, order, and self-preparedness. Through these qualities, children develop a strong sense of security and trust within the classroom community. This foundation allows each child the freedom to explore, build meaningful connections with their guides, and engage fully with the prepared Montessori environment.
Ms. Melayna is especially passionate about creating a warm, loving, and peaceful environment for infants and toddlers, where each child is respected, nurtured, and supported as they take their first steps toward independence.
Outside of the classroom, Ms. Melayna enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors whenever she can. As a young mother herself, she brings both her personal and professional experiences with children into her work each day. She also enjoys continuing to grow in her Montessori practice, exploring ideas and resources that support the development of infants and toddlers and strengthen the calm, nurturing environments she creates for young children.
Our School Pets
The Montessori Method encourages the opportunity for children to interact with animals and pets. Our chickens and goats give each student the opportunity to connect with, and learn about the care of animals.
Our Chickens
Our chickens are a valuable part of our Montessori environment. They facilitate a sense of responsibility for the children along with teaching how to care for an animals in a loving and humane way.
Our Goats
Our four goats are an essential part of our school community. They facilitate a sense of responsibility as the children help care for them.
