Our Admissions Process

At Countryside Montessori School, admissions is a thoughtful and relationship-centered process. Our goal is to ensure that each child and family is a strong fit for our classroom communities and our Montessori philosophy. The following steps outline our admissions process.

Countryside Montessori School welcomes applications from families with children ranging in age from 6 weeks through Kindergarten.

We are committed to cultivating a warm, respectful, and inclusive community. We welcome students, families, teachers, and staff who seek to contribute positively to our school environment, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, family composition, religion, beliefs, or country of origin.

Our goal is to foster a community where every member feels valued, engaged, safe, and supported, and where all families have equitable access to the resources our school is able to provide.

Apply to the Waiting Pool

We encourage all prospective families to explore our website thoroughly, as many common questions are answered within the detailed descriptions of our programs and philosophy.

After reviewing the information about Countryside Montessori School, if you feel that our school may be a good fit for your family, the first step in the admissions process is to complete the online application for our waiting pool.

Our classrooms typically operate at full capacity. Once an application is received, your child will be placed in the waiting pool until space becomes available. Placement from the waiting pool is not first-come, first-served. Instead, enrollment decisions are made thoughtfully in order to maintain balanced classroom communities that best support the children.

There is no fee to join the waiting pool.

Please note that, due to the volume of inquiries we receive, we are unable to respond to phone calls regarding application status or enrollment availability. When space becomes available and we believe it may be a good fit, we will contact families directly.

Step 1: Waiting Pool Application

Families who are interested in joining Countryside Montessori School begin by completing the online Waiting Pool Application.

Our classrooms typically operate at full capacity. Once an application is received, your child will be placed in the waiting pool until a placement becomes available.

When a space opens that may be a potential fit for your child, our Admissions Team will review your submitted application and contact your family via email to continue the admissions process.

Placement from the waiting pool is not first-come, first-served. Enrollment decisions are made thoughtfully in order to maintain balanced classroom communities that best support the children.

Step 2: Tour

If a placement appears to align with your family’s needs, we will contact you by email to schedule a tour. At that time, you will receive an online scheduling link to select a convenient tour time.

All prospective families are required to tour our school as part of the admissions process. For families who are located out of the area, a virtual tour may be arranged.

During your visit, you will meet Robin and Melayna, the lead guides and owners of Countryside Montessori School. They will provide an overview of our philosophy and guide you through the school environment. Families will have the opportunity to see our classrooms and outdoor learning spaces while learning how Montessori practices support the development of the whole child.

While openings may occur at any time during the year, we typically anticipate new placements in August and January. Tours for these timeframes are generally conducted during:

  • March – May for August openings

  • October – November for January openings

Step 3: Application for Admission

Following your tour, families will be invited to complete and submit an Admissions Application online. A submitted application and application fee are required for all potential enrollments.

Our Admissions Team carefully reviews each application while considering current classroom availability and the overall balance of our classroom communities, including age ranges, gender balance, and a family’s commitment to remaining in the program through the Kindergarten year.

At the discretion of the Admissions Team, a morning classroom visit or developmental observation may be requested for your child.

Families will be notified as soon as possible regarding the status of their child’s application.

Step 4: Placement & Acceptance

If your child is offered a placement, you will receive an Acceptance Letter and an invitation to access our Parent Portal to complete the enrollment process.

All enrollment forms must be submitted by the specified due date and prior to your child’s start date, along with the following fees:

New Student Application Fee
$50 (paid with application)

Annual Student Registration Fee
$200 (paid annually at enrollment or re-enrollment)

Annual Supply Fee
$225 (paid annually at enrollment or re-enrollment)

Tuition Insurance
2.5% of annual tuition (paid annually at enrollment or re-enrollment)

Tuition insurance provides financial protection for families in the event of an unexpected withdrawal during the school year.

Please note that all enrollment fees are non-refundable.

New Family Orientation

Each August, prior to the start of the fall semester, Countryside Montessori School hosts Student and Parent Orientations to help new families become familiar with our learning community.

During New Student Orientation, children meet their guides, become familiar with classroom routines, and begin building connections with their classmates.

Immediately following, we host a New Parent Orientation, where families learn about school-wide programs, expectations, daily routines, and have the opportunity to connect with other parents in the community.

Orientation Day is required for all new families joining our school community.

“Times have changed, and science has made great progress, and so has our work; but our principles have only been confirmed, and along with them our conviction that mankind can hope for a solution to its problems, among which the most urgent are those of peace and unity, only by turning its attention and energies to the discovery of the child and to the development of the great potentialities of the human personality in the course of its formation.”
