Our Admissions Process

Below is our admissions process to ensure that, in partnership with the school, you have had ample opportunity to decided if Countryside Montessori School is the best fit for you and your child. We look forward to getting to know you!  Every step of the admissions process is by appointment only.

Countryside Montessori School welcomes applications from all families with children ranging from 6 weeks through Kindergarten. Countryside Montessori School welcomes all students, families, teachers, and staff who wish to make a positive contribution to our community, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, family composition, religion, beliefs, or country of origin. Furthermore, we aspire to be a community where every member has equitable access to the resources we are able to provide, and feels valued, engaged, safe, and supported.

Apply to the Waiting Pool

We encourage all prospective families to read this website thoroughly, as most questions are answered in our detailed descriptions.

After reviewing the programs offered by Countryside, if you decide Countryside Montessori is the right fit for your family, the first step to enrollment is to complete the online application for our waiting pool.

Normally, our classrooms run at full capacity. When applications are received, your family will be placed in the waiting pool. Our waiting pool is not first come first serve, rather enrollment preferences are given to those children who will help to create balanced classroom communities.

There is no fee to go on to our waiting pool.

Please note: Countryside Montessori School does not entertain phone calls regarding submitted applications or enrollment availability.

Waiting Pool

When a placement becomes available we will reach out to you via email and invite you to complete a prospective family questionnaire. Once your questionnaire is received our admissions team will review it to determine if your family’s needs meet the requirements of the open placement.

Tour

When a placement that meets your family criteria is determined, we will contact you via email to schedule a tour. At this time you will be provided with an online scheduling link to schedule the tour.

We require all families to tour our facility as part of our admissions process. If you are out of the area we will arrange for a virtual tour. During your tour you will meet with Robin and Melayna, our lead guides and owners of the school. They will provide an overview of the school philosophy and guide you on your tour. During your tour you will see the classrooms, outdoor environments, and discuss Montessori practices and how Montessori supports the development of the whole child.

Openings can happen at any time throughout the year, but we generally anticipate openings in June, August and January. Tours for these time frames happen March - May and October - November.

Application for Admissions

Once a tour is completed you will be provided with an Admissions Application to be completed and submitted online. Your (pending) Application and the application fee are required for all potential registrations.

  • Our Admissions Team will review each student’s application with regards to vacancies within our classroom communities that ensure balancing of ages, genders, family commitment (staying through kindergarten).

  • At the Admissions team discretion, a "morning visit" or evaluation for your child may be offered/requested.

  • Our Admissions Team will make every effort to inform the parents as soon as possible regarding the status of a child’s application.

New Family Orientation

Each year prior to the beginning of our fall semester, Countryside Montessori School hosts student and parent orientations to help new families become acclimated to our learning community. Every August new students are invited to attend our Orientation Day. During the orientation day, new students meet their guides, learn about classroom routine and protocol, and meet new friends. Directly following our New Student Orientation, we hold our New Parent Orientation. This orientation includes important information about our school-wide programs, protocol and routines, as well as allowing parents to meet other parents.

Student and parent orientations are a great way to become more familiar with our programs and mission, and to welcome new families to our school community. Orientation day is a required for all new families.

“Times have changed, and science has made great progress, and so has our work; but our principles have only been confirmed, and along with them our conviction that mankind can hope for a solution to its problems, among which the most urgent are those of peace and unity, only by turning its attention and energies to the discovery of the child and to the development of the great potentialities of the human personality in the course of its formation.”
